Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church

Our service department made many visits over the years to keep their old, failing system working. We solved problems that other sound companies were unable to fix.

We also found problems and errors that were present since the day it was installed.

The church struggled with the old system. The sound system operators were weary of the coverage issues and of the tendency of the system to feedback at low sound levels.

Everyone agreed that their old sound system needed replacement. We were called upon to design and install a new sound system for them.

The operators of their sound system are very technically savvy and wanted no less than the best sound and video equipment possible.

We provided the customer with a live demo of Panaray® MA12EX Modular Line Array Loudspeakers. The sound quality and coverage was impressive. The Bose speaker’s small footprint makes them very aesthetically pleasing. They decided that the Bose Line Array speakers were an elegant solution to their problem.

An Allen & Heath iLive Digital Console was used in conjunction with a Bose ESP-88 Digital Signal Processor to control twenty Panaray® MA12EX Modular Line Array Loudspeakers.

A Listen Technologies hearing assistance system was installed and provides individual recievers for 12 users.

A custom recording microphone array (using DPA mics) was also designed and installed.

The standards were no lower for the video system. It had to be a multi-camera system that could display virtually any source possible in any combination and record the finished product. The screens had to be large enough to see from anywhere in the room. Like the audio system, this had to be accomplished without changing the classic look of the room.

The speakers and the video screens were painted to blend in with the stone block that comprises most of the construction of this room. We usually use our paint booth to paint loudspeakers to match the colors of the room. This case was more complicated so a theatrical set designer was hired to make the speakers and screens “disappear” into the background.

The video system uses three Vaddio Wallview 70 PTZ robotic cameras that are controlled by a Vaddio ProductionView HD Camera Switcher. Multipe monitors, DVD recorders, two high power Sanyo projectors and two 140" retractable screens are the other major pieces in a very flexible video system. With the audio system replaced and the new video system added they told us that they, " Love the sound and looks of the new system."

From the first repair years ago to the final adjustments on the video system, we have spent hundreds of man hours to make sure the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church was satisfied with the product we delivered.
